New master-planned communities have many more amenities than older, pre-existing communities. For example, Prescott Lakes has 2 community pools, a hot tub, fitness center, spa, and a golf club. Living in these newer communities is like living in a resort.

Different communities will have different amenities, so you are able to pick and choose what you want.

What are some amenities that are available in communities?

Pool: Having a community pool is a wonderful alternative to a private pool. Community pools are less busy than public pools, plus they are right in your neighborhood (possibly in walking distance). Private pools require regular maintenance and cleaning, which you do not have to worry about with a community pool.

Fitness Center: Many master-planned communities not have large fitness clubs, complete with weight rooms and exercise classes. The only downside… you’ll have no more excuses for not going to the gym!

Golf Course: Arizona is considered the golf capital of the world, so it’s no surprise that new home communities here have some great golf courses. There are many communities that have an on-site golf course, pro shop, and clubhouse. In most cases a membership to the Golf Club is optional, and not included in the HOA fees. There can be long waitlists for highly rated courses, but owning a home in the community generally gets you a guaranteed spot. Even if you don’t golf, the courses add to the beauty of the neighborhood.

Spa: Are you surprised? Yes, in many new communities have a spa that offers massages and more. For example, both our Prescott Lakes and Laughlin Ranch communities have this great amenity.

Park/Playground: Most master-planned communities offer at least one park, usually with a playground. Many also offer hiking and biking trails to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
