Where does the time go? At Dorn Homes (just like everywhere else) we’re saying goodbye to 2019 and hello to a whole new decade. The new year is a time for planning ahead, making resolutions, and self-improvement. But it’s also a time for retrospection. A time to appreciate the year we’ve had and remember the moments that made it so special. With the holiday hustle and bustle behind us, we’d like to take a moment and look back at all the exciting changes we’ve experienced, the new communities we’ve built, friends we’ve made, and a few fun facts and figures that we hope will make you smile.
New Communities Throughout Arizona
2019 brought with it the brand new communities of Vistas at The Dells and Wickenburg Ranch and expansion of our popular Walden Farms. Residents and visitors alike celebrated the expansion of Walden Farms and the opening of Walden Parkside Series with food trucks, drinks, games, and community tours. Prospective homebuyers found the homes of their dreams and hopefully made a few friends as well.
We Went through a Lot of Paint Brushes
Last year Dorn Homes and our trade partners probably burned through quite a few paint brushes and rollers because we used over 31,000 gallons of paint last year. That’s enough paint to fill a typical swimming pool.
We Partnered with a Great Charity
Dorn Homes has always emphasized working within the community to help build up the community. That’s why we partnered with the Coalition for Compassion and Justice, a local housing advocacy charity, to break ground on The Lodge, a new affordable housing initiative. Furthering the efforts to end homelessness in the Quad Cities, The Lodge offers transitional housing to help those in need get out of shelters and back on their feet.
We Hung a LOT of Drywall
Over the course of 2019 Dorn Homes and our trade partners hung a surprising amount of drywall. How surprising? Take a moment to come up with a guess in square feet, we’ll wait. Ready? Just shy of 3 million square feet of drywall. 2,970,000 to be exact. That’s enough drywall to cover over 51 football fields!
We Launched an Exclusive New Program
2019 saw the arrival of Dorn Homes’ No Hassle Move Up Program. By partnering with online homebuying companies, Dorn Homes hopes to make moving out of your old home and into a new one as seamless as just trading keys. Homebuyers in participating areas are able to receive a quote within 24 hours and sell their old home in as little as 72. With flexible closing dates, and without worrying about showing your old home, upgrading to a brand new Dorn Home is a breeze.
We Poured a LOT of Concrete
No guessing games on this one, we’ll just come out and say it. In 2019 Dorn Homes and our trade partners poured approximately 28,665 yards of concrete. To put that in perspective, that’s enough concrete to pour a road 10 feet wide and 4 inches deep. For 49.5 miles.
We Innovated Building Science to Focus on Your Health and the Environment
The health of our homebuyers and our environmental footprint have always been important here at Dorn Homes. That’s why 2019 saw the launch of our Organic Home Plus, a promise to leverage our Exclusive Building Science to provide a safe, healthy, and energy efficient indoor environment for you, your family, and your pets.
