A Peek Inside Our Commitment to Quality

Building a brand new home is a major step for most people, no matter where you are in life. You may be selling an existing home, securing financing, and changing cities, and those are all steps you’ll take before you even start designing your new home. After you’ve chosen your model and met with our professional interior designers in our state-of-the-art Design Center, we get to work building your dream home. All of that work planning, and building culminates in one moment: the moment you step through the front door. We understand just how important that moment is. Because that moment is about more than just what you see as the door opens, it’s about what you’ve dreamt of seeing for the past few weeks or months.

When we start building your new home we make a commitment to you, a lot of commitments actually. Our Organic Home Promise and Exclusive Building Science are commitments to deliver a healthier indoor environment with a smaller ecological footprint. Our builder’s warranty is a promise that we’ll be there when you need us, even after the home is built. And your home’s final walkthroughs are our commitment that when you open that door, you’ll see exactly what you dreamt you would.

We begin the final walkthrough process eight days before your orientation when our customer care team and construction team visit your newly completed home. There they perform extensive interior and exterior Quality Check inspections. Over the next eight days the teams pour over the details of your brand new home. They’ll be on the lookout for things like drywall damage, paint imperfections, improperly functioning electrical outlets and switches, and flooring scuffs and scrapes. The customer care team and construction team meet with your superintendent to go over any imperfections they’ve discovered and review the results of the Quality Check and make sure that every item that was documented has been corrected.Screen Shot 2018-11-20 at 7.07.34 AM

The final step in our walkthrough process is making sure that the home not only meets our standards but, more importantly, that it meets your standards. On the day of your orientation, a member of our customer care team will walk you through your new home with the Quality Check form in hand and make sure that every item we’ve identified has been fixed.
