Dining Out with Dorn Homes

As the largest homebuilder in Northern Arizona, the Dorn Homes family has spent time all over the state. Whether it’s exploring new communities to develop, meeting with homeowners or trade partners, or just another day in the office, any day is a good day for a lunch out on the town. With so many of our homeowners coming from out of town or even out of state we decided to ask some of our employees to share their favorite places to eat.

images-2Tawni Johnston offered a glowing review of Leff-T’s Steakhouse in Dewey, just east of Prescott: “They have the best steaks in the area. The staff is very friendly and the bartenders make some great drinks.

It’s also very convenient. It’s on Highway 69 and easy to get to on the way to or from the valley.”

Brooke Wood also loves a restaurant mentioned previously in Pet Friendly Prescott, The Barley Hound. “We love being able to bring our dog with us and sit out on the patio when the weather is nice. The food is also really good and they have a special menu just for pups.”

It is also equipped with heaters for the chilly evenings and you can still hear the live piano player from inside. The Spicy Patron Pina was pretty amazing too!”

When we asked Dawn Morgan for her restaurant suggestion she brought up a small restaurant that all of us in the Quad Cities have driven past although perhaps not stopped by, Puerto Vallarta Family Mexican Restaurant. “One of my favorite places to eat is in Dewey,” she said. “I love the Mexican food and the service is always good, plus it’s affordable.”

el-gato-azul1Kellie Barros recommended a restaurant we previously highlighted in Small Town, Big Tastes, El Gato Azul. Kellie suggested that homeowners visit the restaurant for shared plates of tapas and the best Sangrias!

Shanda Swanson also had a recommendation in Cottonwood. “My favorite is currently Colt 804 Grill in Old Town. They have the best BBQ. They’re famous for their Smoked Meats and Fish. They also do Local draft beer and Bourbon Whiskey Tastings. The atmosphere is great, it’s authentic western with an outdoor smoker and patio dining is a blast when the weather is nice.”

So if you find yourself in Prescott, Sedona, Dewey, or Cottonwood, stop in for a meal at one of these great restaurants. You mind just end up sharing a meal with one of our fantastic team members.
