Exploring Boutique Dining and Fine Art in Cottonwood

Posted by Dornhomes on Nov 21, 2018 8:03:37 AM

Walking through Old Town Cottonwood it’s easy to imagine yourself on the same street 50 or even 100 years ago. Main Street and the Town Square are modernized but otherwise relatively unchanged. The real difference is that instead of general stores, saloons, or soda shops you’ll find small-batch wineries and locally-sourced restaurants populated by craftsmen and women that are redefining Old Town through passion and good old fashioned hard work. When you live in Cottonwood, you’re only a few minutes from all of the restaurants, art galleries, and wineries that Old Town has to offer. With so much to do in Old Town, we thought we’d share some of our favorite spots.

Pillsbury Wine Company

At the Pillsbury Wine Company’s Tasting Room you’ll find multi-award winning organic wines made from grapes harvested in nearby Wilcox, Arizona. You can stop in and enjoy a taste of their Double Gold-winning “Guns & Kisses” Shiraz and take a bottle home for yourself.

Arizona Stronghold

The wines from Arizona Stronghold are frequently found at restaurants throughout Northern Arizona, but taking the time to visit their Tasting Room is an opportunity to try wines that cannot be found anywhere else. They also offer an assortment of Tapas and skewers that are delightful as a full lunch or a small snack while you make your way through Old Town.

Burning Tree Cellars

This winery specializes in small-batch boutique wines spread only by word-of-mouth and offers live music Friday and Saturday Nights. Burning Tree prides itself on using only the finest oak for their barrels and locally sourced fruit for the wines.

Crema Café

The best place to start your morning, Crema Café is a small café offering a variety of beverages and pastries both inside and at their walkup window. A great place to start your day in Cottonwood, grab a cup of coffee and cinnamon roll to go.

Colt 804

The winner of Trip Advisor’s 2018 “Best Lunch,” Colt 804 offers burgers, salads, cocktails and their legendary smoked meats. Located at the top of Main Street, Colt 804 is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy a meal (and possibly a cocktail).

The Tavern Grill

The Tavern Grill is a fun, friendly, upscale neighborhood tavern with an adjoining hotel. An institution in Old Town since 2005, the walls of the Tavern Grill still feature the marks of the fire that closed the Rialto Theater, the building’s original occupant since 1923.

Old Town Center for the Arts

This venue is the premier concert venue in the Verde Valley. Old Town Center for the Arts offers music, theater, comedy, and performing arts throughout the year.

Hart of AZ Art Gallery

This gallery is composed entirely of local artists from throughout the Verde Valley. They feature jewelry, clothing, pottery, glass art, sculptures, photography, paintings as well as a variety of art in other mediums. Hart of AZ also offers a monthly Second Saturday Art Walk until 8pm.

25th Annual Chocolate Walk

Old Town is hosting its 25th Annual Chocolate Walk on December 1st with a VIP Wine and Chocolate Experience the evening of November 30th. Enjoy handcrafted chocolate at each participating business while you take a festive stroll up and down Main Street. Tickets are available online at Old Town Cottonwood’s website.
