February is often a month that we stay close to home, saving the travel for warmer temperatures.

If local entertainment and performing arts piques your interest, then look no further. Prescott is home to many local musicians as well as several venues with a variety of performing arts events. Take a moment to see the happenings around town and get ready to mark your calendar.

Yavapai College Performing Arts Center, in downtown Prescott is home to many cultural events, ranging from symphonic performances, live theatre, and opera, just to name a few. If you have not had the opportunity to enjoy one of these incredible performances, then February might be a great month to do so.   • February 15th – National Live Theatre: Cyrano de Bergerac. With a nose as huge as his heart, he strives to win the heart of his true love, Roxanne.
  • February 18th – The TEN tenors: Love is in the Air. Listen to the collection of classic, modern, upbeat, and heartbreaking songs that will capture the spirt of true love.
  • February 23rd – Bolshoi Ballet: Jewels. Truly inspiring ballet that was created as a homage to the cities and dance schools of Paris, St. Petersburg, and New York.
  • March 1st – National Theatre Live: No Man’s Land. Starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart as two men who meet in a pub, drink to inebriation and exchange increasingly outlandish but lively conversation.

  • February 10th -20th – That Championship Season. Focuses on four former teammates who meet up for a reunion with their High School coach.
  • Mama Mia – March 10th- 27th – Mama Mia. This infectious and uplifting story will dazzle you with dance numbers that have made Mama Mia a worldwide phenomenon.

 

For live music, the local venues certainly have that going on! Music genres vary place to place and date to date but between the blues, rock n roll and country choices – there is something for everyone.
